Quercetin reduced bone erosion and synovitis in arthritic rats by suppressing Wnt3a/β-catenin signaling

In rats with collagen-induced arthritis, 28 days of quercetin treatment lowered arthritis scores, hind paw swelling, and pro-inflammatory cytokines. It also restored bone mineral density and bone microarchitecture, with improvements similar to methotrexate. The treatment reduced Wnt3a and β-catenin expression in spleen and joints. No liver or kidney toxicity appeared.
